{Operation Shoebox} Collecting Candy Donations for Overseas Troops

Another {Halloween} has come and gone.... and I don't know about you but I ALWAYS buy way too much candy and inevitably have leftovers just sitting there in my pantry begging to be eaten.   And trust me, I don't need the extra calories and regret it every time I reach in to grab a piece.  Well, I have discovered an amazing solution!  Today, on Facebook a long-time friend of mine, Colleen, shared a post that just warmed my heart.  Colleen is a mother to an active serviceman, as well as married to a veteran - they are a true military family and so thrilled to claim them as friends.  So what was so wonderful about this post that Colleen shared?  It was simple and to the point, along with the two following photos she added the words, "Yep, just putting this right here"

How great is that?!  I mean really.  So here is what I would like to propose for you.  If you live here in the immediate area (King or Snohomish County) and want to donate any of your unused Halloween candy (individually wrapped & heat-resistant), I will GLADLY coordinate with you to collect it and pay to ship off everything that I collect. I will be collecting candy / donations between November 1 and November 15.  If you are interested just contact me at stacey@trellis.group or comment below.
